Q - What does each entree cost?
A - Each meal is individually priced according to the ingredients. A CarefreeChef meal will cost an average of between $28 - $32, and all meals are 6 moderate adult servings, so per serving that's an average of around $4.75 - $5.25, a price few can compete with.
Q - Can I really prepare 12 family meals in only one approximately two hour session?
A - Yes, we have spent the time experimenting with recipes, ingredients and easy to follow instructions to make this the most efficient meal preparation process around. We've then done all the shopping, prepared all of the ingredients for you, arranged them conveniently with all the utensils you need close-by, and given clear, easy to follow instructions. Also, the cooking is done at your own home, giving you freshly cooked meals rather than reheated ones.
Q - Our family really likes eight of the meals on the menu, can we double up on the ones we like?
A - Sure, just let us know when you book your session how many of each meal you'd like to prepare.
Q - A meal that feeds four to six adults is just too much food for my circumstances, is there any way to reduce the quantities?
A - Absolutely. Most of our meals can be split and prepared as two smaller meals instead of one large meal. This is a great solution for example for two couples who can 'buddy up', split the preparation and cost between each couple, and each couple still ends up with twelve different meals.
Q - Are the meals 'kid friendly'?
A - Some of our meals are specifically aimed at kids. All meals have been tested on typical families, and as you are the one preparing the meal, ultimately you have the ability to leave out any ingredients that any family member does not like.
Q - Do I have to prepare 12 meals, and do the meal prices vary if I make more than twelve?
A – We no longer have a minimum order for people taking advantage of our free assembly service. Four menu items is the minimum order if you choose to self-assemble. You save time and money together by preparing a batch of meals in one quick session. The business is able to offer excellent value due to the discounts available to us for bulk buying, and our pricing is designed to pass bulk buying savings on to our customers.
Q - Can I bring someone to help me make the meals?
A - Yes, one other person is allowed. Children under twelve are required to work as a team together with a responsible adult.
Q - What will I need to bring?
A - A smile, a desire to have fun, and a cooler or hamper to take all your meals home with you. Everything else is provided by us and is included in the cost of the meals. Dress comfortably!
Q - I don't have a cooler, can I still use CarefreeChef?
A - Yes, if you only have a short trip home, your meals will be as safe as your regular groceries, but you should get them home and into the freezer as soon as possible.
Q - I don't have time to assemble my own meals, can you do it for me?
A - Yes, we'll assemble your meals for you absolutely free of charge. Your meals will be ready within five days of placing your order (sooner if possible, and you just come and pick them up as soon as you can after we notify you that they're ready. Let us know when you order if you'd like your meals assembled as full sized meals, or split into two 3-serving packages, and also let us know any special assembly instructions, such as no extra salt etc..
Q - What can you do for people who only want a small amount of food?
A - If you use our free assembly service, there is no minimum order. We also have a small selection of 'grab n go' meals available from our freezer. These are already assembled per our original recipes for you to thaw and cook at home.
Q - Do you deliver?
A - No. This is raw food, and there are just too many things that could go awry from a food safety perspective if you are not home to accept your delivery etc..
Q - What foodsafe precautions are taken at CarefreeChef?
A - CarefreeChef follows the highest standards of food safety in every aspect of the business. Risks are minimized on every front, including the design of our premises, our equipment and supplier selections, food storage, preparation and handling procedures, and customer education.
Q - Our family has food allergies, can we still use CarefreeChef?
A - Yes, review the ingredients list for the current menu, then pick your meals accordingly. Remember, you have the ability to leave out certain ingredients.
